Howard Tenens Logistics, a quality focused, independent family business delivering mutual value through great people, collaboration and technology has partnered with Enterprise Software Systems (ESS) to be their Transport Management System (TMS) provider moving forward.
Technology is at the heart of Howard Tenens’ ethos and the logistics business has invested heavily in its systems and IT infrastructure over the past few years, a move which is set to continue. Howard Tenens required industry leading technology that would complement their best-in-class warehouse management system. There needed to be clear business alignment through cultural and behavioural development with a focus on partnership and ownership.
ESS is a business with a long-standing history of providing transport solutions within the logistics Industry. They provide an intuitive interface with clear dashboards and navigation and are constantly evolving and improving their product with new developments. Their solutions focus on the improvement of operations through ‘flexible visual planning tools, load optimisation, web portals and business intelligence’. They have a key focus on visibility with real-time tactical data boards and alerts available. Additionally, ESS provide information through an integrated BI module, allowing for strategic operational decisions to be made.

Howard Tenens look to develop long-standing partnerships with all customers and suppliers and with that in mind underwent a selection process for a new TMS. The new system was required to upgrade the pre-existing solution and it needed to be suitable to manage an array of complexities that come from Howard Tenens’ varied customer base including FMCG, Retail, Packaging and Automotive industries.
ESS’s TMS solution will provide the Third-Party Logistics business with enhanced route optimisation, accurate costings for ad-hoc and regular work, reduced administration across multiple functions such as invoicing, reporting and planning. Howard Tenens’ customers will also see the benefit environmentally as well as financially of the new TMS system with capacity optimisation, reduced mileage and live status update reporting.
